President R'agnar I -
"Many wasted lunes have gone by since the launch of the satellite; no answer, and we are all dying.
"28 lunes ago I had caught the devil, K'tash, skewering our gem. The source of the flow. The source of our life. That day, I made a promise to me and my paragons - I will make it better. Our world is still dying, and we have nowhere to go. But, I can assure you, this universe is too big. We will not have a solution soon, but, we have information coming in that promises many solutions, before long. And, we shall live again."
President R'agnar took a drink from his ceramic flask as the crowd cheered his fervent reassurances. He knew the price to be paid. They did not know. They could not know. He looked at the crowd jumping, cheering, believing in him. Fools. These were the Zargonians. The little remaining population of Zargon.
According to President R'agnar, on the 28th lune of the last sunstring, he apprehended the devil K'tash; The one who had been only in nightmares before, the one thrown into the orbit for tampering with the Flow-er systems. He was seen trying to tamper with the source gem. But, he was caught by the President taking a luny walk out on the reservoir. Though the criminal was apprehended, sadly, President R'agnar couldn't prevent his crime. The damage had already been done. On trying to tamper with the gem, some of it had chipped away under the force. The light had vanished, and the flow had been lifeless ever since.
Realizing the damage, President R'agnar had employed a team to find a way to resurrect the stone, but to no avail. Placed millennials ago by their forgottens, the gem was the source of the flow that kept everything alive. Now without the gem, the flow had slowly begun to dry up. It could finish anywhere between the next sunstring and the last cold moon. Paragons had already begun to wither. Their passing by a troublesome moment for all those linked.
Though withering was nothing new but, at such juvenile steps, mass panic had set in. President R'agnar addressed the people with a possible solution, a message from the Queen, "Our Queen Her Highness M'linda has had a vision - 'Look to the twinkling clouds in the night. Reach the land of the gem💎, Find the flow surrounding you - with-in & with-out. Hold it in as it is held out. Look up or down. Find the green grass.' - Our receptions are working on it, and we shall soon have a plan of act based on Her Majesty's message."
That was 12 lunes ago. Soon the lune would become cold. The fear was setting inside every paragon's family. But, today the public cheered to a promise of a better future; if not for all, at least for their little springs, they cheered. President R'agnar looked confident. He now turned back towards his official cabin. Maintaining a steady gait, he advanced towards his table. The pillars on both the sides of the balcony, held the chamber erect. The tiles on the ground reflected a president much different than the paragons saw.
His cheerful visage, contorted into the face of gloom and desperation. He knew the Queen could hear him. His thoughts were not his alone. The Queen was linked to all. Yet, he did not attempt to hide his fear of inevitable failure. 'The people do not believe in you fully. They lack confidence. They wish me to intervene. Give me reason not to.' The voice echoed gently through President R'agnar's Hearers. His alone. The Queen was asking him.
'I'm lost, my Queen! I do not see a solution. 10 lunes ago we had sent our trusted travelers in search of the World that you saw our springs flourishing in. They have reported of the edges of the galaxy, but we have not found anyone. I am sorry your Majesty. I have failed us. But, we still have 2 lunes before they run out of flow, so we have not lost hope completely.' He thought to the Queen, opening his jacket; the doors to the podium shut behind him. The tuft of feathers hemmed onto his jacket, fluttered. Each feather signified his reach. His deeds for the paragons. His face mirroring his red tunic shining from the open front of his Brown jacket.
'We shall wait.' Announced the queen in everyone's thoughts.
The lune was shining above, while the president paced up and down in his quarters. This was the second lune. Last time, waiting had been uneventful. No new news had come forth. So, as then, now too the president waited. The last of the hopes were withering.
President R'agnar was moving to and fro in front of his bed. He was sleepless. More than anything or anyone, this moment, he wished for his mistress by his side. The one who truly knew him. The one who chose to link with him. Her love was what he actually craved this dreadful lune. The queen was kind enough to block herself out.
His white house tunic swayed with him. Finally, he was tired. His body gave in as he suddenly sank to the edge of his bed, tears rolling down his viewers. The Lune was at the height of the sky. Soon it will begin to descend.
There was a knock on the door. The civil coat L'oarn was at the door. But, before the President could steady himself, L'oarn barged in. "Forgive me for intruding, but, I couldn't wait for you to open the door." There was a flushed smile on his face. He had ran from the radio tower to the President's chambers.
The visible smile was enough to lift President R'agnar's spirits. "May you keep barging in with such good news. Always." He advanced towards L'oarn. "At Mrkltpl sector, the wave co-ordinates suggest that 'Sigma0316' is the world we are looking for." L'oarn hastily conveyed to an embracing President.
"Ours shall now survive beyond our expectations." The president gleamed through tears of joy. "Is the Queen awake sir?" He inquired. "Come, we shall awake her together." President R'agnar smiled.
The Queen's chamber was dark. She was in deep slumber. As they entered, a deep red light flooded the empty, endless chamber. The red light gradually changed its color to blue. 'E'arth has been found. The green grass awaits.' The voice of the Queen echoed through everyone's mind. The President turned to L'oarn, "Go now. Tell General Adam to begin the extraction process." The civil coat followed his orders and ran out of the chamber.
"My Queen. There is something I have kept from us. We need to talk."
